風蓮湖は根室半島のつけ根に位置し、周囲約96ｋｍの海水の混ざる汽水湖です。　野付風蓮道立自然公園の中にあり、広大な湿原や森林、砂丘など変化に富んだ自然環境が広がっています。 風蓮湖と根室湾を区切るように、長さ８ｋｍ、幅１．３ｋｍの長大な砂州が春国岱です（根室市観光協会のHPより）20年以上前より仕事の関係もあり、道東地区を毎年訪れていましたが、この風蓮湖は「季節により」「天候により」「潮の満ち引き」によりその表情を大きく変えることに気づき、それ以降機会があるごとに訪れています。今回はそれらを伝えたく、カメラを持ってきました。季節は夏、天候は晴れで引き潮です。

Located at the base of the Nemuro Peninsula, Lake Furen is a brackish lake mixed with seawater with a circumference of approximately 96 km.　Located in Notsuke Furen Provincial Natural Park, it offers a varied natural environment with vast marshlands, forests, and sand dunes. Shunkunitai is a large sandbar 8 km long and 1.3 km wide that separates Furen Lake from Nemuro Bay (according to the Nemuro City Tourist Association website). Since then, I have been visiting the lake every chance I get. This time, I brought my camera with me, hoping to convey these changes to you. The season is summer, the weather is sunny, and the tide is low.
